Peering PolicyKittenNetwork consists of several points of presence (PoPs) across the globe. Additionally managing some of our various partner networks. We are always looking to expand our network and are open to peering with any network that meets our requirements.
Network ContactsPeering RequirementsTo establish a peering relationship with KittenNetwork, the following requirements must be met:
  • Ensure that you only send traffic to us that is intended for the prefixes we have announced to you.
  • Do not route traffic to us using default routes or static routes unless it is specifically intended for the prefixes we have announced to you.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in PeeringDB
  • Only send us routes originating from your network, including downstreams
Public Peering (Internet Exchanges)We peer against the IXP route servers and will generally decline any direct peering requests, unless the peer has a significant amount of traffic to exchange, does not peer with the route servers or does not send their full routing table to the route servers.BGP FilteringTo maintain a healthy network, KittenNetwork will use the following filters below.
  • We will use max-prefix filters for every peering session.
  • We will drop any IRR / RPKI invalid prefixes.
  • Prefixes with any private asn in the AS_PATH will be dropped.
  • Any bogon prefixes designated by IANA will be dropped.
  • Prefixes longer than /24 for IPv4 and /48 for IPv6 will be dropped.
  • Prefixes with long AS_PATHs will be dropped.
Session ConfigurationTo ensure a stable peering session, please use the following configuration when establishing a BGP session with us.
  • Please configure your BGP sessions to use our as-set (defined in PeeringDB) to ensure that you receive all of our prefixes.
  • Configure your BGP sessions to use a maximum prefix limit of 256 for IPv6 and 16 for IPv4.
BGP CommunitiesKittenNetwork uses both BGP Large Communities and BGP Communities to control and identify traffic. You can find a list of our communities here.Network GeofeedKittenNetwork provides a geofeed for our network. You can access the geofeed here.
